Following the Easter festivities, this week kicks off one day late, on a Tuesday, but the weekly agenda is packed full.

 

This morning will open with an on-line appointment reserved for teachers as part of Project “Enjoy the Internet Fully,” a project developed in collaboration with Google. There will also be an "Alternate Reality Game"session in the afternoon for parents and children. The virtual game is a didactic tool to educate and raise the awareness of adolescents on a safe use of the web. Expert coaches will introduce participants to tools and applications that will help them investigate on a mysterious story that will teach them how to distinguish true and fake news on-line.

 

Distance learning activities will also be held for over-60s and students at IIS Galileo Galilei in Bolzano as part of Project "Amongst Generations - United for Work." The appointment is at 11:45.

 

Moreover, there will also be a special session of our Help Desk today (registration is still open) to provide support to teachers on digital tools and distance learning, as well as two webinars organised by "Coding Girls Turin." The young women participating in the programme developed in collaboration with the Compagnia Di San Paolo to train and raise the awareness of women on STEAM subjects will participate in a virtual lesson on App Inventor. The programme involves the Liceo Botta in Ivrea and the Liceo Cattaneo in Turin with FMD Coaches Marta Asvisio and Luisa Sajola. Furthermore, on Wednesday, April 15, there will be five parallel appointments for Coding Girls at the Liceo Copernico-Luxemburg, IIS Bosso-Monti, S.I.E.S. Altiero Spinelli, Liceo Scientifico Galileo Ferraris in Turin, and year-five classes at the Liceo Botta in Ivrea. 

 

Also on Wednesday, "Open Space," there will be a session of the project selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund to contrast the educational poverty of minors that introduces teachers to educational robotics thanks to Marco Brocchieri. And "CO.ME. - COde & FraME" together with ENI is introducing young women to technical and scientific jobs. The participants who have already participated in coding and design thinking labs will attend a module dedicated to Fab Labs and fabbing activities. The virtual visit to the Fab Lab will introduce the young women at the Liceo Scientifico Alessandro Volta in Milan to prototyping.

 

CO.ME. and Coding Girls Turin will hold further sessions on Thursday and Friday, for a total of five lessons.

 

There also is a new lab on artificial intelligence and its applications and potential. The Covid-19 emergency has not stopped our collaboration with Microsoft Italy. This is a delicate transition phase that provides new educational opportunities for Programme "Ambizione Italia for Schools" (for further information see: Innovation Gym). In particular, on Wednesday there will be a session dedicated to AI and the Jobs of the Future (3:00-16:30 pm).

 

Projects "Enjoy the Internet Fully" and "CS First" for parents and teachers will hold sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. "Enjoy the Internet Fully" will host a session for families on Wednesday and Friday afternoon dedicated to digital transformation; on Thursday and Friday morning the session is for schools. Moreover, webinars on the use of the Google CS First Platform for primary and first-degree secondary school teachers will be held on all three days with FMD Coaches Catia ColuzziLara Forgione and Silvia Larghi
