With national and international events to promote STEM disciplines
Welcome to the usual appointment with the agenda of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. We are starting a new crucial week: we are in the middle of National STEM Week, a time dedicated to promoting scientific and technological culture as a strategic lever for the future of the country. Once again this week, the Coding Girls & Women programme plays a central role, fitting perfectly into the National Week schedule with initiatives in Rome and Milan aimed at students of different age groups. The meetings are not only opportunities for technical learning, but also for experimentation, storytelling and feedback on the courses taken, as in the case of the final events designed in a workshop and participatory format [see the news item STEM Week with Coding Girls]. As the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policies, Maria Teresa Bellucci, pointed out, the younger generation must be able to manage technology with awareness, a critical spirit and ethical responsibility, directing it towards objectives of sustainability and social progress [see the letter sent to President Brunetti].
In line with this framework, two other important dates fall within this week: World Safer Internet Day (10 February) and International Day of Women and Girls in Science(11 February). And with SID 2026, the 10th edition of Cyber Safety Month (10-28 February) kicks off, promoted by the Directorate-General for Students, Inclusion, Guidance and Combating Early School Leaving of the Ministry of Education and Merit and by Generazioni Connesse (FMD is part of the Advisory Board).
The collaboration with Rizzoli Education continues, with the second webinar scheduled for Thursday 12 February at 6 p.m. The meeting, entitled The Inquiry Method. Designing a research path with AI, helps teachers transform AI into a cognitive partner for investigating complex phenomena and promoting investigative learning. The trainer is Annamaria Bove.
