Two free webinars to transform reading into an inclusive and data-rich experience
Reading is one of the most fertile areas for innovating teaching with artificial intelligence.
Not to replace human interpretation, but to amplify it, make it more accessible and open up new possibilities for everyone.
In December, as part of the Ital.IA Lab for School programme promoted with Microsoft, there will be two free webinars designed for curious teachers and experimenters who are ready to bring new tools into the classroom without sacrificing the depth of critical thinking.
1) From page to data: exploring texts with Copilot and sentiment analysis
9 December, 4.30-5.30 p.m.
with Francesca Sabatini
How can reading a classic be transformed into a humanistic data science workshop?
In the first webinar, we will discover a model that can be replicated in any school to integrate different and complementary approaches:
- Human philological analysis: slow, deep, irreplaceable reading.
- Algorithmic analysis with Copilot: applying sentiment analysis to classify emotions and values.
- Quantitative approach with Python: graphs and curves to visualise and interpret data.
Starting with the character of the Unnamed in The Betrothed, lecturer Francesca Sabatini shows how AI can become a lever to enhance the interpretation of texts, without ever replacing the reader's sensitivity.
2) AI tools for inclusion: reading and writing for everyone
17 December, 4.30-5.30 p.m.
with Felicia Bitetti
A webinar dedicated to teachers looking for concrete solutions to make reading more accessible and personalised.
Together with Felicia Bitetti, we explore:
- Immersive readers: speech synthesis, speed adjustment, graphic customisation.
- Inclusive teaching strategies: how to integrate these tools into everyday practice.
- Personalised learning paths: highlighting, translation, dictionary.
- Conscious use of technology: which settings really work for different contexts and students.
Certificate and teaching materials
At the end of each webinar, you can download a certificate of participation and teaching materials that can be used immediately in the classroom.
