Robotic Experience

Project "Robotic Experience" kicks off today at the Fondazione Cavalsassi to integrate robotics into educational activities and develop computational reasoning in young students.

“Robotic Experience” is a modular course organised into three phases [see calendar]. The first addresses teacher training with an overview of educational robotics and the potential of robotic kits. Participants can work in groups and experience the assembly and programming of robots. Then, guided by expert coaches, the teachers are helped to design course applications for their school curricula.

Children in years one and two will participate in five 2-hour labs held by coaches from the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. The labs will focus on Bee-bot, a toy-robot designed for kindergarten and primary school children; Ozobot, a robot as small as a chocolate that detects colour and lines to follow a path; and the Lego We-Do Kit that requires assembly and programming.

During the final phase, teachers are supervised by experts and managed three lab lessons with students in which they use the knowledge and skills acquired during the course.
