Maker Faire 2025: educational experiences for all ages at stand F12
Robotics, coding, digital manufacturing and new applications of artificial intelligence for schools, inclusion and training. At Maker Faire Rome 2025. The European Edition (17–19 October, Gazometro Ostiense), the Fondazione Mondo Digitale enriches the Education & Gaming area with interactive experiences for teachers, students and families.
At stand F12, the Foundation offers training and testing sessions as part of the following projects:
- Pathway Companion, an intelligent tutoring platform for inclusive teaching, developed with the support of Google.org in collaboration with Fondazione Don Gnocchi, ITLogiX and Roma Tre University;
- Experience AI, a programme co-developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Google DeepMind to bring AI into classrooms in a creative and critical way;
- Vivi Internet, al meglio (Live the Internet to the fullest), a course on how to use the web safely and responsibly through fun experiences in the Interland Room;
- the Fab Lab workshops at the Palestra dell'Innovazione (Innovation Gym), with Solder an emoji (creating a luminous emoji) and Protobot, a pocket-sized rover from Microbots that can be programmed remotely;
- iFab, created with the Ital.IA Lab programme and the support of Microsoft, to experiment with the new alliance between artificial intelligence and the culture of making. Smart totems and mobile robots guide students and new makers in discovering machinery and technologies, making digital manufacturing increasingly accessible, assisted and inclusive;
- Virtual Taekwondo with the Italian Taekwondo Federation (FITA) to combine sport, technology and augmented reality, overcoming the physical and social barriers of traditional practice. The Dobok of the Future project accompanies the Italian delegation's preparation for the 2027 Esports Olympic Games in Riyadh and opens up new opportunities for research and innovation for makers and students.
Finally, on Friday 17 October at 5.15 p.m., the Fondazione Mondo Digitale will be a guest at the Roma Smart City stand (E1) to share the experiences and results of the Digital Facilitation Centres, a territorial model that brings digital citizenship skills and services closer to communities.
