Over 290 projects for schools that are increasingly open to the local area

The new Map of the Educating City 2025-2026 was presented yesterday morning in the presence of Mayor Roberto Gualtieri and Councillor for Education, Training and Employment Claudia Pratelli.

The Map brings together the free educational, training and cultural opportunities available to students, teachers and schools of all levels in Rome, promoting a city that educates and grows together.

Now in its fourth edition, the Map involves 294 projects and 32 cultural, social and health institutions in the capital. Over 400 people attended the presentation, including teachers, school administrators, students and representatives from the world of education.

Among the main new features this year is the new interactive website mappacittaeducante.roma.it, which allows schools and teachers to explore and choose the projects best suited to their educational needs.

The initiative, promoted by the Department of Education, Training and Employment of Roma Capitale, is an important tool for combating educational poverty and enhancing the city's educational community, based on collaboration between institutions, schools and the third sector.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale on the Map

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale ETS is also participating in the new edition of the Map with nine projects that promote educational innovation, digital citizenship and the development of skills for the future.

Projects included in the 2025-2026 Map

  • Creative robotics contests. Workshops for secondary schools to promote computational thinking and technological creativity.
  • Coding Girls & Women. Pathways for equal opportunities in STEM throughout the school system.
  • Experience AI. In collaboration with the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a programme for teachers dedicated to teaching artificial intelligence.
  • Make It Real. In partnership with Amazon, a modular course combining STEM training, prototyping and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Teachers of the Scuola del Noi. Training programme and community of practice for teachers focused on education for life.
  • Pathway Companion. In collaboration with Google.org, Fondazione Don Gnocchi, ITLogiX and Roma Tre University, an AI project to support special educational needs.
  • Rising Youth. Empowerment programme for young people and upper secondary schools to strengthen transferable skills and civic spirit.
  • RomeCup 2026. Major robotics and future career orientation event (closing event in April at La Sapienza University).
  • Live the Internet to the fullest. National programme on digital citizenship and online safety education for students, teachers and families.

These programmes, designed for different audiences (teachers, students, families), help to reinforce the vision of a “school of us” that integrates digital skills, civic values and active participation.
